Refers to hand-held electric motor operated or magnetically driven tools intended for indoor or outdoor use. Applies to hand-held reciprocating sanders, orbital sanders, random orbital sanders and belt sanders. Does not cover criteria for tool design, for reducing risks arising from noise and vibration. Does not cover disc-type sanders which are covered under EN 50144-2-3.
