Applies to shaft vibration measuring devices and described their construction and their functional requirements. It specifies limits of error, describes the calibration of the devices and gives information on the uncertainty of measurement involved. The specifications serve to provide reproducible test results so as to enable monitoring and assessment of shaft vibration in accordance with VDI-Richtlinie (VDI Code of Practice) 2059 Parts 1 to 5.
