Describes stationary non-instantaneous storage water heaters for heating water to a temperature below 100 degree C. They may be thermally insulated for long-term storage, or uninsulated for temporary storage, of hot water. Water heaters not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, are within the scope of this standard. Excludes water heaters designed for industrial purposes, water heaters used in locations where special conditions prevail and instantaneous water heaters. Water heaters used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary.
