Covers engineering and safety requirements to be incorporated when modernizing and/or reconstructing lifts, escalators and paternosters such that parts affected shall comply with Parts 1, 4 and 5 as far as is practicable and when not it allows deviations to secure a minimum safety standard. Allows new replacement equipment even if certain site requirements are now more rigorous for relocation, however, the equipment, when reinstalled, shall comply with requirements of Part 1. Includes check lists for the major modernization or reconstruction of electric and hydraulic lifts.
