Applies to a.c. and d.c. contactors and a.c. motor-starters whose main contacts are intended to be connected to circuits, the rated voltage of which does not exceed 1000 V a.c. or 1500 V d.c. Specifies requirements for contactors associated with overload or short-circuit protective devices, starters associated with short-circuit and integrated overload protective devices and contactors or starters combined with their own short-circuit protective devices. This Standard is identical to and reproduced from IEC 60947-4-1:2000.
