Describes methods for determining (at the outside of a building): background noise level and levels of noise from factories, fixed installations and industrial premises. Covers a method for assessing whether the background noise level may lead to complaints from people living in the building. Does not apply to assessing background noise below a 30 dB A-weighted sound pressure level; does not apply also to assessing the noise measured inside buildings. Also includes definitions and symbols.
