CONTAINED IN VOL. 01.05, 2008Covers the requirements, and method of rating and testing of alloy chain slings assembled using components fabricated in accordance with Specification ASTM A 391/A 391M for Grade 80 chain, and ASTM A 973/A 973M for Grade 100 chain, and ASTM A 952/A 952M for components. It covers welded and mechanically assembled slings. It does not cover slings used at elevated temperatures (above 400 degree F [200 degree C]), in harmful or corrosive environmental conditions or for applications such as non-symmetrical legs or loading.
