Applies to all types of resistive potentiometers, including lead-screw actuated types, presets, multi-turn units, etc. for electronic equipment. Test methods described conform with the commonly used single turn rotary potentiometer with a control spindle. Where a component is constructed as a variable resistor, i.e. as a 2 - terminal device, the detail specification shall state variation required in standard tests.
