Test methods and mechanical safety requirements of outdoor seating for domestic, camping and contract use for adults, without regards to design, materials, construction or manufacturing processes are specified. This prestandard does not apply to removable upholstery, coverings for severe contract use, or permanently fixed furniture and street furniture where higher requirements may be necessary. Test methods for assessing the behaviour of outdoor seating at high and low temperature are listed in Annex A. The effect of degradation and ageing caused by light and moisture has not been included.
