Applies to rotating electrical machines with voltages from 5 kV to 24 kV and with output from 5 MVA upwards for generators and from 5 MW upwards for motors. The standard is also applicable to machines with outputs between 1 MVA and 5 MVA and with voltages of 5 kV and above, provided its used has been agreed. For machines whose windings are cured in the stator, see section three.
