Deals with incandescent lamps for headlamps, fog-lamps and signalling lamps for road vehicles and describes technical requirements with test methods and basic interchangeability (dimensional, electrical and luminous). Includes requirements for series production lamps, for type approval and for standard (etalon) lamps. Performance requirements such as lamp life, lumen maintenance, torsion strength and resistance to vibration and shock are given in I E C Publication 810 which also covers information such as temperature limits and maximum lamp outlines for guidance of lighting equipment design.
