Proposes general procedures for the measurement of single impulses or short bursts of noise and the presentation of the data. It applies to noise which would be produced by explosions, artillery fire, bombing, pistol and rifle fire and other similar activities. It does not provide methods for assessing the potential effects of impulsive noise on hearing, structures or the community. Proposed as an Interim Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard technically equivalent to ISO/DIS 10843.
