Describes the performance and testing of shipborne radar required by Regulation 12 of Chapter V, of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974, and which is associated with IEC 945. The radio frequency of the equipment shall at all times be within the limits defined in the Radio Regulations. Covers range performances, display, range measurement, heading indicator, bearing measurement, range and bearing discrimination, antenna horizontal radiation pattern, roll and pitch performance, scan, azimuth stabilization, performance check, anti clutter devices, interference from external magnetic fields, sea or ground stabilization, plotting devices, operation with radar beacons, interswitching, protective arrangements and radio frequency radiation.
