Covers the basic criteria for the design of steel structures to be coated by protective paint systems so as to avoid premature corrosion and degradation of the coating or structure. Provides examples of appropriate and inappropriate design, showing how problems of application, inspection and maintenance of paint systems can be avoided. Also deals with measures for facilitating handling and transporting of the steel structures.
