Gives five methods of testing impact absorbing playground surfacing. These are, measurement of the ability of the surface to absorb energy, measurement of the ability of the surface to resist abrasive wear, measurement of the slip resistance of the material, the measurement of the ability of the material to resist indentation by point loading and to recover from sustained loading and the assessment of the response of the material to one particular source of ignition. Covers principle, apparatus, sensitivity and calibration, velocity measurement, test specimens, procedure, calculation of results and report.
