Applies when reliability requirements are expressed as a success ratio. An observed success ratio may be defined as the ratio of the number of non-failed items or successful trials at the completion of testing to the total number of the test items or occasions of trial. The test plans given in the standard are applicable to reusable as well as non-reusable (one-shot) devices.
