Describes shavers, hair clippers and similar appliances for household purposes. Appliances not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public are within the scope of this standard. Excludes appliances designed for industrial purposes, appliances used in locations where special conditions prevail, battery powered shavers, massage appliances and appliances for medical purposes. Appliances used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary.
