Proposes performance requirements and specifications for the manufacture and application of hardboard, which was previously described in AS 2458-1982. It specifies dimensional tolerances and physical and mechanical properties for three classifications of hardboard, i.e. standard hardboard (Type GP and RD), tempered hardboard, and exterior hardboard. Appendices provide information on methods of compliance, recommended procedures for testing and acceptance, purchasing guidelines, storage and handling, and size or pack quantity combinations. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
