Covers the provision of electric emergency lighting in most types of premises, other than cinemas, private domestic premises and existing premises to which the provisions of CP 1007, covering maintained lighting for cinemas, have been applied by the enforcing authority. This code's provisions apply to common access routes within multistorey dwellings. Gives recommendations for the illumination and indication of escape routes when there is a failure of normal supply. Proposes minimum continuous periods of operation of such emergency lighting based on the type, size and use of the premises. Also includes detailed definitions.
