Describes electrically operated commercial deep fat fryers. Excludes pressure fryers and continuous process fryers for the mass production of food. For deep fat fryers intended to be partially or completely immersed in water for cleaning, additional requirements are under consideration. Covers abnormal operation, stability and mechanical hazards, mechanical strength, construction, internal wiring, provision for earthing, creepage distances, clearances and distances through insulation, resistance to heat, fire and tracking, resistance to rusting and radiation, toxicity and similar hazards.
