Describes requirements for flanged body end cast iron gate valves of parallel slide type, copper alloy faced, nickel alloy faced and stainless steel faced. Covers valves of nominal pressure (PN) designations of 10 bar to 25 bar with ends flanged in accordance with BS 4504, nominal diameters (DN) 40 to 1000. Includes valves for use in ANSI (BS 1560) flanged systems. Where there is an appropriate application standard, the purchaser must ensure that its requirements are complied with, e.g., BS 806 and BS 759.
