Applies to normally and thick galvanized steel wires with up to 1960 N/square mm of nominal strengths, since no specific standard defines the requirements regarding zinc coating. Does not apply to steel wire which are to be lightly or thinly galvanized for further application or for finishing purposes. Specific requirements apply to steel wires whose cross section will be altered by galvanization.
