Specifies a method of determining the density of paints, varnishes and similar coating materials using a pyknometer. Gay-Lussac and Hubbard pykometers are suitable for all coating materials (and organic liquids) with a kinematic viscosity not exceeding 50 mm2/s at the test temperature, use of the Hubbard pyknometer being recommended for highly viscous liquids.
