Provides requirements for metal wall ties manufactured from wire or strip and suitable for cavity walls and considered most suitable for buildings generally. Gives a minimum specification suitable for such work. Lengths of the larger ties are adequate to tie together two leaves across the largest cavity likely to occur in walls constructed to dimensionally coordinated sizes. Includes marking and testing, and method of determining the effectiveness of the stress relieving of cold formed copper alloy wall ties. Illustrates butterfly type of wall tie, double-triangle type of wall tie and vertical-twist type of wall tie.
