Gives guidance on the structural use of timber, glued laminated timber, plywood, tempered hardboard and wood particleboards in load-bearing members. States recommendations on quality, grade stresses and modification factors used either as simple members or as parts of built-up components, or when a part of structure incorporating other materials. Recommends design of nailed, screwed, bolted, connectored and glued joints. Also recommends a test method to assess the adequacy of structural assemblies and includes advice on workmanship, inspection and maintenance.
