Establishes general requirements and tests for water boilers, coffee urns and milk heaters which are for intermittent or bulk heating rather than continuous delivery and which do not operate above atmospheric pressure. The specification applies to equipment designed for operation on either single-phase or polyphase supplies where the voltage to earth does not exceed 250 V a.c. or d.c. It establishes a satisfactory standard of safety and performance when the equipment is used under normal conditions.
