Establishes the general requirements and test for hot cupboards without heated tops and hot cupboards with heated tops. Applies to equipment designed for operation on either single-phase or polyphase supplies where the voltage to earth does not exceed 250 V a.c. or d.c. It establishes a satisfactory standard of safety and performance when the equipment is used under normal conditions. Covers finish, marking, protection against electric shock, operation under overload conditions, temperature rise, heating-up and temperature distribution tests, protection against spillage, insulation resistance and electric strength, mechanical strengths, stability and construction.
