Sets down minimum performance and safety requirements for active anaesthetic gas scavenging systems to reduce the exposure of hospital personnel to anaesthetic gases and vapours. Covers systems which convey expired and/or excess anaesthetic gases from patient breathing systems connected to anaesthetic machines and patient ventilators out of the room. Does not apply to the collection of gases by a proximity system. Covers definitions, hoses in the receiving or disposal systems, conical connectors, electrical requirements, information to be supplied by the manufacturer and marking.
