Sets out the basic requirements for the specification and testing of tank containers for the carriage of gases and liquids, including solid substances which may be loaded or unloaded as liquids either for gravity or pressure discharge, for international exchange and for conveyance by road, rail and sea including interchange between these forms of transport. Tank containers used for the carriage of dangerous goods are subject to additional national and international requirements as applied by competent authorities.
