Explains the construction, operation, performance and safety requirements of fixed, flued, fan-assisted air heaters designed for use with liquid petroleum fuels. Such heaters are fitted with heat exchangers to give a supply of warm air to the immediate vicinity, or to ducting for distribution to different areas. Where special fire hazards exist, limitations on the location of the heater and the provision of special additional protective equipment may be required by the appropriate authority. Where performance standards are specified for controls, they relate only to controls fitted as part of, or supplied with, particular appliances; they do not provide a complete specification for controls when they are for general use and are tested separately.
