Specifies requirements regarding the design, size, properties and inspection of lightweight vertically perforated bricks which, owing to their higher thermal insulating properties as compared with bricks covered in DIN 105 Part 1, are particularly suitable for building external walls. Where such bricks are to be used for loadbearing walls, see DIN 1053 Parts 1, 2 and 4, and DIN 4103 Part 1 in the case of internal non-loadbearing partitions.
