Covers electrically operated dispensing appliances (operated by coin or credit card) designed to prepare and/or deliver food, drink and packaged consumer products. Excludes appliances designed for industrial purposes, appliances designed for household use, electrode heaters used within an appliance and appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail. Appliances used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary. In many countries additional requirements may be specified by the health authorities and the national authorities responsible for water supplies and the protection of labour.
