These guidelines were developedjointly by DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company and GeneralMotors to standardize the reference manuals, procedures,reporting formats, and technical nomenclature used by thesecompanies. The APQP guidelines are designed to assist thesupplier in developing a product quality plan which willsupport the development of a product or service that willmeet automotive customer requirements. This manual providesgeneral guidelines for preparing plans and checklists forensuring that Advanced Product Quality Planning is inactuality carried out at the supplier.
