Applies to data processing equipment and associated electronic units, data preparation equipment and data terminal equipment intended to be connected to supply systems with a maximum nominal voltage 600V and designed to be operated continuously under conditions of normal use. Specifies requirements intended to ensure safety for the operator and layman who may come into contact with the equipment and, where specifically stated, service personnel. Is intended to ensure the safety of installed equipmentwhether such installed equipment consists of a system of interconnected units or independent units, subject to installing &maintaining the equipment in the manner prescribed by theequipment manufacturer. Applies to equipment intended for usein normal office environment or special data processing rooms.
